Legacy Grandparenting Summit comes to West Jackson Baptist Church

JACKSON, Tenn.—One local church hosts a spiritual seminar geared towards empowering grandparents.

The Legacy Grandparenting Summit was held from 9 Saturday morning until 4:30 in the evening at West Jackson Baptist Church in Jackson.

The church was selected as a satellite site for the annual seminar from Legacy Coalition.

This event serves as the only national conference that focuses on Christian grandparenting.

This year’s theme, “For This Purpose,” aims to remind grandparents of their important role as the patriarch of the family and guiding grandchildren along in their spiritual journey.

The conference includes several guest speakers with messages of encouragement.

Some of these involve issues like family values and unity, generational discipleship, strategies for building stronger bonds and learning ways of praying for the success of grandchildren.

“We are looking to invite grandparents from the community. That’s what we’ve done all day today is look for ways to resource them, to help their grandchildren grow into their faith in Jesus Christ,” said Josh Ward, Next Gen Pastor.

Seating for the event was limited and tickets cost $34 when preordered or $39 after January 31.
