100 Women Who Care awards $17,000 to local nonprofits

JACKSON, Tenn. — 100 Women Who Care of West Tennessee awarded $17,000 in grants to local nonprofits at an awards luncheon Friday.

The event brought together members to network, hear from nonprofit finalists and vote for the nonprofits to be funded. During the luncheon, each organization pitched their mission and program. Donors voted to determine the grant winners in both the small and large categories.

An $11,000 grant was awarded to the large organization with the most votes, RIFA of Jackson. The small organization winner, All Saints Immigration Services, received a $6,000 grant.

“It is a relief and, with a lot of responsibility. There were so many good causes and I wish that every single one of them could have been granted the award,” said Kabao McCarver, board member for All Saints Immigration Services.

These grants were funded by donations from 100 Women Who Care members.

100 Women Who Care is an initiative of the Community Foundation of West Tennessee dedicated to uniting women to use the power of collective giving and make an impact in the region by giving back to local nonprofits.
