Baptist Carroll County named a Top 100 Rural & Community Hospital

PRESS RELEASE FROM BAPTIST MEMORIAL HOSPITAL-CARROLL COUNTY:

HUNTINGDON, Tenn. —  The Chartis Center for Rural Health named Baptist Memorial Hospital-Carroll County among the 2025 Top 100 Rural & Community Hospitals, a recognition that only one other Tennessee hospital achieved.

Chartis’ annual Top 100 award recognizes rural hospitals that demonstrate outstanding performance based on the results of the Chartis Rural Hospital Performance INDEX. The INDEX uses publicly available data to evaluate financial and operational success.

“We are honored to be recognized as one of the top rural hospitals in the country,” said Susan Breeden, chief executive officer and administrator of Baptist Carroll County. “This award reflects the hard work and dedication of our entire team to providing high-quality care to our community.”

Hospitals, health systems with rural affiliates, hospital associations and state offices of rural health nationwide use the INDEX to measure and monitor performance across key areas that affect hospital operations and financial stability.

“The Top 100 Rural & Community Hospitals Award Program elevates the very best performers and helps create a roadmap for those seeking to improve financial and operational performance while continuing to care for the communities they serve,” said Michael Topchik, executive director of the Chartis Center for Rural Health. “This is our 10th year recognizing the Top 100 Rural & Community Hospitals and we are thrilled to be able to celebrate this milestone with this year’s winners.”
