Carroll County unveils new fire truck fleet

JACKSON, Tenn. (WBBJ) – Carroll county is rolling out a major investment in public safety with a fleet of new fire trucks.

County leaders and firefighters gathered at the Carroll County Civic Center in Huntingdon to showcase twelve brand-new apparatus, part of a $5.4 million upgrade to the county-wide fire service.

The new fleet includes six engines, four 2,000 gallon tanker-pumpers, and two mini pumper–rescue units strategically placed across the county to cut response times and improve reliability.

“It was a really big deal for Carroll County we were having the problem of an aging fleet with maintenance cost and reliability and our county commissioners and county mayor really saw the need for this,” said Jonathan Gaskins, Carroll County fire chief.
