TDOT Commissioner attends US-412 Ribbon Cutting

LEXINGTON, Tenn. — The Tennessee Department of Transportation commissioner joined state and local officials just outside of Lexington Wednesday and held a ribbon cutting to open a nearly 5-mile section of State Road 20, also known as US-412. The TDOT Commissioner says the road opening isn’t just a victory for drivers, but also for the state’s economy. “This is a really important road for this section of the state,” TDOT Commissioner John Schroer said. “It takes you from Decatur County all the way to I-40 which is a great opportunity for economic development.” The $31 million project started in November 2010 and was originally estimated for completion, October 31.
