Dermatologist shares potential causes of eczema symptoms
JACKSON, Tenn. — It’s officially springtime, which means allergy season is emerging as well.
This can impact millions of people, including those with eczema.
Those who have eczema have a higher risk of good allergy asthma, and also hay fever.
Managing symptoms of this condition can be challenging.
It is always best to speak with your primary care physician to find the best treatment options for you or your child at home.
We spoke with a pediatric dermatologist who told us about some of the causes of the symptoms.
“It can be the pollen irritating their skin,” said Dr. John Browning. “Sometimes the changes in the weather going from dry to humid, humid to dry, huge temperature fluctuations in the middle of the day. Getting some of those allergens off your skin is very helpful, but at the same time if you are showering or bathing frequently, you may see your skin dry out more.”
Eczema affects more than 26 million people in the United States.
