Judon Roberson is facing aggravated child abuse and neglect charges and was seen in court Wednesday.

Family members of the deceased child attended court and were seen in matching shirts with the child’s picture on it.

“I’m very upset. My great nephew, he was 3 years old. He didn’t deserve what happened to him,” said Jackie Waller, the victim’s great grandmother. “Everybody loved Brylan. He was sweet. He didn’t cry with nobody. He would come in there, he would always come and get in my lap, and he would tell me ‘Auntie! Auntie! So and so hit me.'”

“What kind of monster could kill a three-year-old? I’m hurting real bad. It tears me down. I’m having nightmares thinking about my great nephew because that was my baby. I held him, I was there for him and I am very upset,” said Waller.

Roberson is charged with an incident that occurred in January, where he was left alone with his girlfriend’s son. He told officers the child drowned in the tub and he later dried him off with a hair dryer.

“I just hope that we get all the justice that we need for little Brylan,” said Veronica Greer, victim’s grandmother.

Roberson was briefly in court Wednesday for a rescheduling of a later date.
