NY shooting suspect pleads not guilty to murder
CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (AP) – A man who was picked up by U.S. marshals in Tennessee has pleaded not guilty to murder in connection with the shooting of a well-known equestrian in New York.
Brett Knight was arraigned Friday in Central Islip (EYE’-slihp), N.Y. He has not yet entered a plea for another charge, aggravated harassment. Prosecutors did not explain why.
Prosecutors allege Knight fired 11 times through a window of Ross Reisner’s Long Island home on Sept. 24, killing him.
Reisner’s partner, Kevin Murray, was wounded.
Authorities say Knight had been traveling around the country on a motorcycle when he was taken into custody in Seymour, Tenn.
He’s being held without bail. His next court date is Oct. 16.
