Death of newborn found near dumpster investigated
BARTLETT, Tenn. (AP) – Authorities in West Tennessee are investigating the death of a newborn whose body was found near a dumpster in Bartlett.
The Commercial Appeal in Memphis (http://bit.ly/16rdnj7 ) reported the infant’s body was sent to the Shelby County medical examiner’s office to determine the cause of death.
Bartlett police said they have determined the mother’s identity and have been in contact with her.
Police were classifying the death as suspicious. No charges have been filed.
The body was found Saturday morning near a business.
