Very Hot And Humid, PM Storms Probable

Weather Update: Monday, July 14 —

Good Morning West Tennessee. We start the morning off just about the same as the last week and a half now in the low 70s. There are some areas of fog, notably in SW Tennessee between Chester, McNairy and Hardin Counties. Otherwise most of the region will start out dry with Mostly Sunny Skies. The abundant sunshine will push temps through the 70s and 80s fairly quick. We will push 90°F by lunchtime today. Temps will continue climbing through the afternoon to around 93°F, the heat index will easily climb into the triple digits, but not quite heat advisory criteria thanks to the rain-cooled outflow boundaries from scattered convection this afternoon. A couple of the storms this afternoon may be strong to potentially severe, mainly for gusty outflow winds ( 58mph), not all of them will do this but one or two may.  The more likely weather you’ll experience is the very heavy rain, frequent thunder/lightning.
