Mckenzie Football Preview

Mckenzie Football Preview

We preview the McKenzie Rebels football team. They are trying to follow up a season where they
went undefeated in the regular season and finish first in the district. In their playoff stretch
they dominated on offense and defense  while only giving  up 7
or less points until their semifinal game where they loss
to MASE with a final of 40 to 34.  Now we have to point out
that this year  will look different not only due to the fact this
team lost about 6 or 7 starters on both sides of the ball.
But also the fact they loss Mr. Football winner quarterback Tate Surber who
was a two year starter who has graduated and now plays for UT
Martin. We caught up with head coach Keith Hodge and he spoke about
what the focus is leading into the season and who will be the next QB 1 for
the Rebels.

You know we gotta continue to focus on  ourself and getting stronger in the weight room and condition
in this heat fine tuning what we do and getting better at it. and figuring out where these pieces fit
you know like we say we got new faces we gotta figure out who is going to play where for us and
what their going bring to the table that’s the main thing you gotta bring something to this table to help this team win and be competitive and where gone have our kids step up work hard and get there and that’s what we want to see between now and week one for sure. You know Cole Brown is going to step up and play quarterback for us you know where real excited for him and the opportunity this is going to bring to him also and hes got we say big shoes to feel but we need Cole Brown to be Cole Brown is what we need him to lead us be smart play hard like he does be competitive thats what playing quarterback is about being the ultimate competitor.”
McKenzie will kick off the season hosting
Huntingdon on Friday August 22nd at 7:00 pm.
