Two Wounded in Afternoon Apartment Shooting
EAST JACKSON — Around 2:30 p.m. Monday, police were called about a shooting in Royal Arms Apartments, located at 1580 N. Royal Street. A 23-year-old man arrived at the hospital by private vehicle. He had multiple gunshot wounds. Officers responded and found a 19-year-old man with a single gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital by ambulance. Both men told police that they were walking through Royal Arms when they were shot in the parking lot. Neither man lived in the apartment complex. The only available description is two black males. The 23-year-old man was treated and released. The 19-year-old remains at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in stable condition. Police found marijuana in the 19-year-old’s pocket.
