Crockett County Football Preview
The Crockett county football team has set their sights on the 2025 season.
Although 2024 did prove to be a successful year for the cavaliers
being that they were the talk of the town winning their first four games.
being that they were the talk of the town winning their first four games.
Then wrapped up the season 8 and 5 and 2-3 in the district. The thing about
Crockett county is that they have shown they are a team that
wins the blowouts and the close games. For example they won
week 1 36 to 34 over North Side and then week 7 defeated Obion County
45 to 9. The cohesion is still there because they have a lot of players
returning with the expectations that some ball games that didn’t go their
way will now fall in their favor. But one question so far on everybody’s
mind is how will the offensive line look by week one.
We caught up with head coach Kevin Ward and here’s what he had to say about it.

“Were still experimenting with alot of guys were still trying make sure that we got five guys who
we can trust and that were going to be able to get the job done we only had five seniors last year
couple of them was on the offensive line so we had to replace those guys so we kinda left a little hole there so were still trying to find the five that fits best and were moving them in different positions and that’s what the preseason for once we get through with the jamboree will have everything in concret on who’s going be where and what their going do and even then their is still competition out there doesn’t mean we cant make a change in week five if that’s the case makes us better than thats what will do.”

“Obviously early in the year special teams are always huge we feel like we won games in the
past because of special teams so we really emphasize that not just early in the season
but all year long matter of fact we start practice with special teams a lot of the time just to make kids understand how important the special teams are so we really emphasize that we feel like if we can win that phase of the game then we really just have to win one other phase weather it be offense or defense and we have a really good chance of winning the game so alot of teams dont emphasize special teams like we do but i think that we been pretty consistent over the years
of being pretty good in the special teams.”
