JACKSON, Tenn. — The Jackson City Fair kicked off Wednesday afternoon.

The Jackson Rockabillys are hosting the inaugural Jackson City Fair this year at Rockabillys Stadium.
Organizers say they are hoping for a ‘home run’ with fair goers.

The petting zoo and carnival rides opened up at 4 Wednesday afternoon. At the petting zoo, there were some unique animals you may not find here in West Tennessee. One is a Jacob’s Sheep, originally from the middle east, known for the four horns on its head.

The rides are provided by Amusements of America. They brought 28 different rides to the City Fair this year.

“I have been told that we have a lot more rides than the other fairs have had in the past ranging from little kiddie rides to big thrill rides,” said Mark Lovell, producer with Amusements of America.

Hot air balloon rides will be available from 4 to 8 p.m., every evening.

Majestik Spectacular has three acts on the schedule, a motorcycle highwire stunt, the Globe of Death motorcycle act and an acrobat show with aerial Lyra.

Showtimes will be at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m., Thursday and Friday evening and 1:30, 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. on the weekend.

The Globe of Death motorcycle act features two motorcyclists in a small spherical cage as they put the laws of physics and gravity to the test.
To see the rest of the show, you’ll need to head out to Rockabillys Stadium before the fair ends on Sunday.

“Bring your family, come out here and make some memories at the Jackson City Fair.  Go to our website and get all the show hours, the prices, see the stuff we have and come out and just have a big time,” said Lovell.

Gates will open at 4 Thursday and Friday afternoon and at noon on the weekend.
