McKenzie Rotary Club Celebrates 75 Years
McKENZIE, Tenn.- The Rotary Club of McKenzie celebrated a very special milestone, Tuesday evening, the club’s 75th birthday. Dozens of members and well-wishers gathered for the celebration of the civic group’s history. Through the years, the McKenzie Rotarians have given generously to their community, helping start the senior citizens center and supporting the McKenzie City Park, as well as offering scholarships to students who plan to attend Bethel University. Rotary leaders said their giving will only continue. “New goals and new opportunities and new visions,” said Ed Perkins, of the McKenzie Rotary Club. “Let service light the way and shine the light in some of the shadows in our community that we need to cover.” When the club began in 1937, it started with 23 members.
