Hub City Central is adjacent to the Oman Arena on Lane Avenue in east Jackson. The stadium’s scoreboard has a video screen above for added game day atmosphere.
Several alumni from all walks of life made the trip to JCM Thursday. Here’s what they had to say.
“Man it looks amazing. It’s just fun to be back and see these kids have an opportunity to play on something that can make them better,” said Al Wilson, retired linebacker for the Denver Broncos and JCM class of 1995.
“I remember going over to the Rothrock, you know, the little stadium with the crumbling seats and steps and I used to park right over here where the track is now. So yeah it’s an amazing facility and they’ve really done a great job of planning it out,” said Todd Mundt, Celtics and Hawks player, and JCM class of 1988.
The JCM band and cheer squad performed at the open house.
All of the alumni we spoke with Thursday were very proud of the school and excited to see JCM finally have a stadium of its own. Many share their experience from their years at JCM and going to football games at Rothrock Stadium.
This week, the cougars are celebrating homecoming. The cougars will take on the Gibson County Pioneers Friday with kickoff at 7 pm at their new home: Hub City Central stadium.
You can catch highlights from that game featured on Football Friday Night Friday at 10 pm.
