PRESS RELEASE:
AARP TO HOST PICKLEBALL 101 CLASSES IN JACKSON
JACKSON, Tenn. – This Saturday, AARP is joining the pickleball craze that’s sweeping the nation by bringing Pickleball 101 classes to Jackson. From 9a-12p at the Westwood Tennis Center AARP will transform the tennis courts into a pickleball playground as we host a free introduction to pickleball clinic.
The clinic event will consist of 60-minute on-court guided classes with certified pickleball instructors and focus on warm up, technique, skills building, and game play for players of all levels. Our pickleball experts will teach the basics from dinking, driving, and explaining what’s going on with the kitchen; to helping participants learn key elements of the game.
“Pickleball is one of the fastest-growing sports in the country, and it has life-changing benefits, including brain health, physical fitness and social inclusion – plus, it’s just plain fun,” said Mia McNeil, AARP Tennessee State Director. “Our classes are perfect for all skill levels, and we even have paddles folks can borrow to get their pickleball adventure started.”
Registration is free and AARP membership is NOT required. More details are available at www.aarp.org/TNpickleball
