MVP of The Week Asa Barnes
MVP of The Week Asa Barnes
It’s Wednesday so let’s start things off with your MVP of the week and it will be
Asa Barnes. Running back for the Westview Chargers. On Friday night he put on a all time
performance against the Dyersburg Trojans.
He had 12 carries for 166 yards and three touchdowns
and then four receptions, ninety five receiving yards and one touchdown.
Not to mention he plays defense and recorded a pick six.
Which means he had five total touchdowns and 318 all
purpose yards and helped the chargers to a win defeating
Dyersburg 65 to 30. He compares his game to New Orleans Saints NFL
running back Alvin Kamara. Because they both can catch the ball
out the backfield and are also patient runners.. We spoke with our MVP
at practice yesterday and he talked about his big night last Friday and
if he can repeat it for the regular season finale. Take a listen.
i came down i was like number 5 a bigger back so i had to get down their early hit him before he could get the ball and then i got i was like i think my arms are long enough to reach out and get that so i was like let’s go get it let’s go score so i got the ball went and scored and just did my thing.
Really i do this for my family like i said growing up in Martin being small town kid growing up in more of a single parent home it was just something always my dream to be able to move out and
get out and just do what i can do so thats my why.”
in action they will host Covington on Thursday at 7:00 pm.
