JACKSON, Tenn.- Jackson police have charged two men, one woman and a teenager in a Monday night shooting where shots were fired into an occupied home on Holland Avenue. Corey Gray, 27; Casey Mackey, 20; Shenequa Ross, 20; and Hentrick Long, 17, all of Jackson, are charged with four counts of attempted first-degree murder. Ross faces an additional charge of felony evading arrest for leading police on a pursuit following the shooting. All four individuals are being held at the Madison County Jail and will be arraigned at 8 a.m. Thursday in Jackson City Court. Around 10:50 p.m. Monday, police responded to a shots fired call on Holland Avenue. Officers determined that shots were fired into the house at 88 Holland Avenue. At the time of the shooting, the home was occupied by four people, ages 49, 41, 21 and 16. No one inside was hit. Shell casings were recovered from the scene. Officers spotted a car believed to be involved in the shooting. Police attempted to stop the car and were led on a pursuit. The car crashed into a pole on the 600 block of Lexington Avenue. A 16-year-old male passenger was thrown from the car. Three other males fled from the car. The driver, Shenequa Ross, was taken into custody for questioning. Three guns were recovered from the car. The juvenile who was thrown from the car was transported to the Regional Medical Center at Memphis. As of today, the teen is in stable condition. Police anticipate filing charges on him upon his release. Corey Gray, who was a person of interest in Monday night’s shooting, surrendered around noon Tuesday at the Madison County Criminal Justice Complex on charges related to a Saturday shooting on the Madison County Sheriff’s Department parking lot. During the ongoing investigation, investigators searched a home at 123 Walsh Street around 12:15 p.m. Tuesday. Evidence was gathere from the home. Casey Mackey and Hentrick Long were there and were taken into custody for questioning. The investigation has revealed that Ross drove Gray, Mackey, Long and the 16-year-old to 88 Holland, and they participated in shooting into the house. Police are releasing Long’s name because he was previously transferred from juvenile to adult court. In June, Judge Christy Little ruled that Long could be tried as an adult for a shooting. On March 6, Long shot a 23-year-old man with a shotgun in the apartment complex at 33 Carver Ave. Long was charged with attempted first-degree murder for that shooting and was previously released on $25,000 bond. Prosecutors will seek to have Long’s bond revoked in light of the new attempted first-degree murder charge. The investigation is ongoing.
