Shooting Victim Laid to Rest

JACKSON, Tenn.-One of the two victims from the string of shootings in Jackson is laid to rest. Family, friends and co-workers attended the funeral of Alexander Merriweather, Wednesday afternoon. Someone shot and killed Merriweather while he was sitting inside a unit at East Pointe Apartments on Daugherty Street on November 4. Police said Merriweather was visiting someone at the apartment when he was hit by a spray of bullets. There was extra law enforcement presence during the funeral. The procession that took his body for burial in a cemetery located in the Denmark Community of west Madison County.
