‘Thanksgiving Free Farmer’s Market’ event aims to combat food insecurity
LEXINGTON, Tenn. — Residents gathered at Montgomery Cultural and Enrichment Center in Lexington Tuesday for the Thanksgiving Free Farmer’s Market.

The event was provided by New Life in Christ Ministries and the Tennessee State University 2501 grant. Anyone from SNAP-eligible households or those facing food insecurity were invited.

“We’re trying to respond to the SNAP calls and address food insecurities. A part of the gospel is when people are hungry we help feed them. So, we are just trying to give back to the community today,” said Jacqueline Taylor, Sunday school teacher with New Life in Christ Ministries.
They plan to feed even more mouths next year.
