Groundbreaking held for new Paris Fire Station #1
PARIS, Tenn. — The City of Paris hosted a groundbreaking ceremony Monday morning.
The ceremony was held for the new Paris Fire Station #1 at 11 a.m.
The event took place at the site of the future station, located at 1555 Tyson Avenue.
City leaders, project partners, and members of the Paris Fire Department gathered to commemorate the start of construction on the modern facility, which will replace the department’s outdated headquarters.
The new Fire Station #1 is designed to improve response capabilities, expand training opportunities and better accommodate the needs of the growing community in Paris.
“It just makes a statement as you’re driving into Paris,” said Kim Foster, City Manager of Paris. “That we care about our community, and care about the safety of our community. We care about keeping up with the future and the planned growth. So, I’m really excited about the location. We’re hoping about 18 months on the outside, but probably about a year from now we will be able to have our ribbon cutting.”
The City of Paris extends its appreciation to the residents and community members who have supported this project, and looks forward to keeping the public informed as construction moves forward.
