This year is the 30th year she has organized and led the parade in Lexington and it’s also her last. McPeak will be retiring from her role as parade master.

The City of Lexington and Henderson County are thankful for her three decades of dedication, joy, and community spirit that have made this parade an beloved tradition.

As for the actual parade, this year’s theme was “Christmas Movie Magic.” Many floats and participants could be seen wearing festive colors like Grinch green or stocking red.

Whether the movie was “Elf”, “Home Alone”, or “It’s a Wonderful Life”, this parade had a float that could appeal to everyone.

Area marching bands, JROTC, battalions, and dance academies came out to celebrate the occasion.

Also in the parade were many Lexington and Henderson County officials including the city and county mayors.

It was certainly a cold night in Lexington, but the Christmas spirit didn’t stop anyone from celebrating.
