JSCC hosts its 2nd annual Toy Drive

JACKSON, Tenn.—Students at one local college are making sure kids have gifts under the tree this year.

Jackson State Community College hosted its annual toy drive event Saturday morning on campus.

The event began at 9 a.m. in the parking lot of the gymnasium at the school and continued until noon.

The fundraiser is a labor of love, as athletes from all of the college’s sports teams participate in collecting items for the toy drive. JSCC also invites local businesses and organizations to join them in the efforts.

Toys are collected for ages newborn to 17-years-old. Toys are then handed out until each one has found its way to a new home.

“I think this year we are very excited. We are very excited to help the community and help all of these people in need. Seeing the smiles on these kid’s faces is very inspiring,” said Chloe Williams.

This was the second year for the event and it had a tremendous turn out.
