Suspect taken into custody in connection with Volume Lounge shooting

UNION CITY, Tenn.— The Union City Police Department announces one suspect has been taken into custody in connection with the Volume Lounge shooting.

The Union City Police Department is announcing that a suspect has been taken into custody in connection with the deadly shooting that occurred at the Volume Lounge in Union City, TN on Sunday, November 23, 2025.

The suspect, Jamarquay Tirik Hockett, was apprehended in Union City, TN on Sunday, December 14, 2025 without incident and is currently in custody at the Obion County Sheriff’s Department. Following the investigation, Hockett has been charged with five (5) counts of Aggravated Assault and one (1) count of First-Degree Murder.

This arrest represents a significant step toward justice for the victims and their families. Our Investigators have worked tirelessly to identify and apprehend the suspect responsible for this tragic incident. We are forever grateful for the cooperation of community members who assisted throughout this investigation.
