JPD respond to shots fired at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital

JACKSON, Tenn.—Multiple JPD units responded to a shots fired call Saturday night at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

Our crew arrived on scene and witnessed a very large police presence in the parking lot area of the hospital, which was said to be placed on lock down due to the incident. While at the scene, suspects were also being detained.

We reached out to JPD Sunday morning for an update, but were told at this time there was no further information available.

JPD has released the following statement regarding the incident:

Public Safety Update | Jackson Police Department

The Jackson Police Department responded to shots being fired in the parking lot of Jackson Madison County General Hospital at 620 Skyline Drive.

Officers arrived on scene and located a crime scene inside a vehicle in the parking lot near the Emergency Department. Officers as well as K9’s located two firearms. Two male individuals and a female were quickly detained in connection with the incident.

It is unknown at this time if the actions of those involved were accidental or intentional. There have been no reported injuries at this time and from preliminary investigations this appears to be an isolated incident.
