When, and for how long, can you shoot fireworks in the Hub City?
JACKSON, Tenn. — If you have forgotten that Jackson is allowing the sale of fireworks, you are going to be reminded as these tents are popping up once again.

These guys were here back in July for that holiday. They said it went well.
“It was really good. We got to meet a lot of new people. We made really big sales. We didn’t really sell out, but we made quite a bit of profit,” said Teppie Ivy, firework salesperson.

They actually sell fireworks for a special reason and they say that being able to come to Jackson to do it has been a benefit for them.
“We do it as a church fundraiser. So we get to do it for our church and make money for the church,” said Ivy. “I made a lot more for the church last year than the year before. It was definitely a better location. A lot more business.”

Some of the tents may be open at different times. But you are able to buy fireworks, starting back on December 18, until January 2. The times to buy and sell are from 8 a.m. till 11 p.m.

But now that we know when we can buy them, when can we shoot them off?
Well, December 28 through January 2 you can shoot them off from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. but on New Year’s Eve you can shoot fireworks until 12:30 a.m.
Some important safety reminders for you:
- Only use fireworks approved by Tennessee state law.
- Never ignite them near dry grass, structures, or flammable materials.
- Make sure you keep a bucket of water or garden hose nearby.
For those in Madison County, outside of Jackson city limits, use of fireworks shall be allowed from 11 a.m. on December 31 until 12:30 a.m. on January 1.
