Firework sales return to the Jackson city limits

JACKSON, Tenn.—Jackson residents are preparing to ring in the New Year with a Bang!

With a quick drive through Jackson, you might have noticed the return of fireworks stands.

Residents are taking advantage of the first year of fireworks being sold within the city limits of Jackson. This seasonal sale began on December 18 and will continue until January 2.

Fireworks can be purchased at available vendors including TNT Fireworks, which has multiple locations throughout Jackson.

Fireworks are still prohibited from public parks or government property.

And it is recommended when using them to keep a bucket of water or hose nearby avoiding areas near anything flammable or dry grassy areas.

“We’ve got a little bit of everything. We’ve got the mortars, multi-aerials, all the different types of novelties like sparklers and roman candles. We are tax exempt because we are doing this as a fundraiser for our church by the Master’s Hand in Jacks Creek, Tennessee,” said Michelle Carter, Staff for TNT Fireworks.

According to the latest City of Jackson ordinance, fireworks are allowed to be set off between the hours of 11 am until 10 pm between now and New Year’s Eve.

And on the big night, New Year’s Eve, fireworks are allowed up until 12:30 am Jan 1st.
