Man accused of pretending to be an officer to steal doughnuts from gas station
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE/Gray News) – A Kentucky man is facing charges after police say he walked into an area gas station and flashed a fake badge to steal coffee and doughnuts.
Authorities in Louisville identified the man as James Sullivan. They said he entered a Thorntons convenience store last week, picked up doughnuts and poured himself a coffee.

As he walked by the cashier, he bypassed the point of sale and flashed a silver badge on his hip, police said.
The employee contacted authorities and investigators identified the man as Sullivan. Investigators said this wasn’t the first time he had done this.
According to court records, Sullivan is a convicted felon with a lengthy criminal history.
Sullivan is facing charges of impersonating a police officer and theft by unlawful taking in connection with his latest arrest.
