Freed-Hardeman to host 90th Bible Lectureship beginning Feb. 1
HENDERSON, Tenn. — One local university is about to host an annual event that has become a tradition for so many.

Freed-Hardeman University’s annual Bible Lectureship is returning for its 90th year. Many people will be coming to campus in just a couple of weeks.
FHU President David Shannon tells us more about it.
“We have between 150 and 175 sessions and those sessions are for all ages. Sometimes people think the lectureship is just for preachers. We have children’s sessions, teenagers have their sessions, many general audience sessions,” said Shannon.

Last year, a few thousand people attended from 42 different states and 13 different countries. They are expecting around the same turnout this year.
“We’ll have several thousand unique views throughout the week as well. So we’re talking about an event, when you put together the unique livestream and the people in person, you’re getting probably 6 or 7,000 people that are impacted by this event,” said Shannon.

FHU’s students are also moving back onto campus soon. That means, during the first week of February, the city of Henderson’s population will be over 3,000 more than it is now.
“Great things happen when good people come together. It is not just Freed-Hardeman, it is also the town of Henderson and Chester County. It is wonderful to be able to work together,” said Shannon.
There is still time to register and the event is from February 1-5. For more information, click here.
