HUMBOLDT, Tenn. — Police are investigating the death of 2 year-old Brayden Taylor. Neighbors are in disbelief. “It’s just terrible when any child dies, no matter what the circumstances,” Linda Stoltz, a retired kindergarten teacher, said. Humboldt police were called to the home just after 10 Thursday morning, but officers won’t say who called for help. Brayden was found unresponsive. He was rushed to Humboldt General Hospital then airlifted to LeBonhuer Children’s Hospital in Memphis where he was pronounced dead. Neighbors on the street say they are surprised there is an investigation going on. Those who knew the toddler say he seemed well cared for. “I’m sad. It’s a tragedy. I’m sad for the family,” Joanna Kenodle, a Humboldt resident, said. Investigators will not say what, if any injuries, Brayden suffered, but an autopsy is being performed. “It’s hard this time of year…to lose someone around Thanksgiving,” another Humboldt resident, Calissa Smith, said. Police, for now, will only say the 2 year-old’s death is under investigation. Police also said that no arrests have been made in this investigation. They would not comment if there is currently a person of interest.
