Lifeline Blood Services announces immediate need for all blood types

JACKSON, TN — An immediate need for all blood types has been announced by Lifeline Blood Services today. Lifeline is in need of donors willing to roll up their sleeves as soon as possible.

“Winter may have hit us hard, but we can always count on our blood donors to help keep the blood supply strong. We have had to cancel 14 blood drives and have had limited operational hours at our 3 blood donation centers. We urgently ask our donors to step up and make the time to donate today. Local patients are counting on us!” said Melinda Reid, Marketing Manager with Lifeline Blood Services.
Lifeline Blood Services, located at 183 Sterling Farms Drive in Jackson, is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. The Dyersburg Center is located at 1130 HWY 51 Bypass, Suite 19 & 20, and is open Saturday and Wednesday 8 a.m. – 4 p.m., Sunday through Tuesday 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. The new Paris Center is located at 211 Tyson Avenue and is open Saturday and Wednesday 8 a.m. – 4 p.m., Sunday through Tuesday 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. No appointment is necessary to donate whole blood.
For Friday, January 30, 2026:
OPEN: Jackson Center 9am-6pm, Dyersburg Center 8am-4pm and Paris Center 10am-4pm. No blood drives are scheduled due to road conditions.
Lifeline Blood Services is one of the nation’s oldest blood centers. Established in Jackson Tennessee in 1947, Lifeline provides blood products to Tennessee, Mississippi, and Arkansas. Servicing hospitals, rehabilitation centers, children’s hospital, cancer centers, air ambulance services and ground ambulance services. Annually, the Center collects approximately 26,000 blood products (red cell units, platelets, plasma, etc.) to meet the needs of patients. Of that total, 75% of those products are usually collected on bloodmobiles. Lifeline also provides reference lab and cross-matching services to healthcare facilities.
