Bolivar police make arrest in February 11 shooting case
PRESS RELEASE FROM THE BOLIVAR POLICE DEPARTMENT:
Bolivar, TN. — The Bolivar Police Department has arrested Jaquarius Dance in connection with a shooting that occurred on February 11, 2026, resulting in two individuals being seriously injured.

On Wednesday, February 11, 2026, officers responded to reports of gunfire in the Taylor Cove area. Upon arrival, officers located two victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Both individuals were transported to Regional One Medical Center for treatment.
Following an investigation, authorities identified Dance as the suspect in the shooting. He was taken into custody the same day without incident. Dance has been charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder and is currently being held at the Hardeman County Criminal Justice Complex pending further judicial proceedings.
The Bolivar Police Department received critical assistance from the Jackson Police Department during the investigation. The Jackson Police Department deployed its K9 tracking unit to assist officers in locating evidence. Additionally, investigators utilized the department’s Flock Safety camera system to identify and track vehicle movements relevant to the case, as well as its National Integrated Ballistic Information Network (NIBIN) lab to analyze ballistic evidence recovered from the scene. NIBIN technology allows law enforcement agencies to compare ballistic evidence across jurisdictions, helping determine whether firearms used in crimes may be linked to other incidents. Other agencies assisting in the investigation included Madison County Sheriff’s Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
The coordinated efforts between the Bolivar Police Department and the Jackson Police Department were instrumental in advancing the investigation and securing the arrest.
Additional charges may be forthcoming as investigators continue to gather evidence and conduct interviews. As this remains an active and ongoing investigation, no further details will be released at this time.
