Jackson Rotary Club honors Dr. Carol Rothstein as 2025 Woman of the Year

JACKSON, Tenn. — The Jackson Rotary Club presented its 73rd Woman of the Year 2025 award to Dr. Carol Rothstein Wednesday, recognizing her leadership, dedication, passion and community service.

Dr. Rothstein is currently the president of Jackson State Community College and has served in that role since October 2023. She has also held leadership roles at other community colleges across the country.

The Woman of the Year award has been presented in Jackson since 1952 and was originally presented by Altrusa International. In 2016, the Jackson Rotary Club began presenting the award. Nominations were accepted for women age 40 and older who reside in Madison County.

Dr. Rothstein said she was surprised to receive the award and feels honored by the recognition.

“I’m really humbled and touched that they have chosen me,” Rothstein said. “There are so many deserving women and to see the women who have won previously is really just inspiring.”

According to recommendation letters for Dr. Rothstein, she possesses many qualifications and exemplifies great leadership. She has won other awards for her leadership.

Dr. Rothstein offered advice on becoming a leader in the community.

“I think that as long as you’re putting service for others above your own interests that you are on the path to make an impact in the community,” she said.

Dr. Rothstein said the most rewarding part of her job is helping her students and she will continue to strive to be an influential woman.

The Jackson Rotary Club plans to continue honoring outstanding women leaders in the community.
