Henderson awarded $1.5 million with Affordable Housing Grant

HENDERSON Tenn. — The city of Henderson, TN has been awarded a $1.5 million dollar grant through the 2025 Affordable Housing Program.

The grant is one of 56 affordable housing program grants awarded by the Federal Home Loan Bank of Cincinnati in 2025, totaling nearly $51.9 million dollars. Funds will be used to help create more than 2,000 units of affordable housing. This benefits residents throughout Kentucky, Ohio, and Tennessee.

Heritage towers is a project in Henderson that serves to assist with affordable housing, offering 75 units available for rent.

“There’s just not enough affordable housing whether you’re a homeowner or home buyer, or a renter. A project like Heritage Towers it is limited to lower moderate income households, so it’s exclusively reserved for households,” said Damon Allen, Senior Vice President/Chief Marketing Officer at Federal Loan Bank of Cincinnati.

The Federal Home Loan Banks’ voluntary programs focus on mortgage rate relief, community development financial institutions lending, disaster reconstruction, first-generation home ownership, and emergency rehab and repair for those with special needs.
