Near Record Highs Saturday, Rain Chance Sunday Night, Warm & Wet Next Week!
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update:
Temperatures made it up to around 70° today and we are going to be about 5° warmer on Saturday. The record tomorrow is 77° and we are going to be very close. The winds will return to the south during the day but we will continue to see mostly sunny skies. More clouds will move in on Sunday as a weak front will pass by but most of the day looks dry. A few showers may try to move in Sunday night into Monday morning but they might only impact our northern counties. There are more chances for rain and storms in the forecast next week and we are looking at a very warm week as well. We will tell you all about it coming up here.
THIS WEEK:
The skies cleared out Thursday night allowing temperatures to fall to the low 40s by Friday morning. There was a little bit of patchy fog Friday morning due to the clear skies, calm winds and humidity hanging around 100 all night. Friday turned out to be a great day as Thursday’s system cleared out quickly and high pressure moved back on in. All of us saw plenty of sunshine on Friday with generally calm winds all day long as well. Highs made it up around 70° before, but we will again fall back down to the low 40s overnight into Saturday morning due to the low humidity and calm winds.
There is a weak front that will look to pass sometime during the weekend but it appears to be a weak and mostly dry front at this time. Overall, the weekend is looking pretty good with highs up into the mid 70s on Saturday and mid 60s on Sunday depending on the timing of the weekend front. The record high is 77° on Saturday set a few years ago and it could be tied by the afternoon. The winds will come out of the south on Saturday but shift sometime to the north on Sunday. Expect a sunny start to Saturday with some clouds building in towards Saturday night. A shower or two cannot be ruled out with the weekend front on Sunday, but chances are only around 20% from Sunday evening through Monday morning. The most likely time to see the showers will be Sunday night and the most likely areas to see them will be people close to the Kentucky border. Weekend lows are forecast to fall somewhere close to 40°. We should be a little cooler to kick off next week with highs only in the low 60s on Monday.

NEXT WEEK:
A few showers could linger early Monday morning but most of the day on Monday is looking dry. Monday will be the coldest day of the week behind Sunday’s front and highs will only reach the low to mid 60s. Monday night lows will fall down to the low 50s. The temperature and humidity will begin to climb again on Tuesday as the east winds on Monday will turn to the south by Tuesday morning. Tuesday highs will reach the low 70s and we should be back up to the mid 70s by Wednesday and Thursday for sure. Some isolated weak storms and showers will be possible at times in the middle of the week depending on where the stalled out front is going to set up as it approaches the Mid South Tuesday night. We are going to be well above average in the temperature department by the end of the work week. The winds will be breezy at times and come out of the south most of the week. Expect more clouds than sunshine during the week as well. The severe weather threat will look to increase the closer we get to the weekend. Some areas could see 2-3″ of rain next week with some additional rain coming in the following weekend.
