Governor Bill Lee meets with TWRA for duck banding
DYER COUNTY, Tenn. — There were multiple bills in Dyersburg Friday as the governor traveled to Dyer county for a wildlife project with the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency and Tennessee Tech.

As an avid duck hunter himself, Governor Bill Lee met officials beside the marsh to aid in awareness for the project. The TWRA caught some different varieties of ducks, banded them, and tossed them back into the sky. With the technology the band provides, the TWRA will track the ducks and will be able to use that location information for wildlife conservation.
“We live in one of the most beautiful states in America, but if we don’t protect and preserve and conserve then that won’t be true for our grand children. So what we’re doing here today I think is important for generations to come,” said Governor Bill Lee.
The birds could travel from Tennessee all the way to Canada and some may even veer into Russia.
