First responders honored at “United in the Storm”
SELMER, Tenn.—First responders from counties across West TN are celebrated with a special event in McNairy County.
United in the Storm took place Sunday at the Ag center in Selmer.
TN Senator Page Walley hosted the district-wide event to honor the selfless efforts of all the first responders that worked tirelessly to help others during Winter Storm Fern. That also included first responders like linemen, warming center volunteers, state forestry employees, food distribution workers, chain saw crews, and anyone else who shared their time and energy to help others during the inclement weather.
The event offered wonderful food including catfish and BBQ, as well as live entertainment from John England and the Western Swingers.
The event was a small token to give back to those who looked out for so many others during such a difficult time.
