U.S. Army veteran offers insight on Operation: ‘Epic Fury’
JACKSON, Tenn. — Many across the country are concerned for what’s next following the U.S./Israeli strikes on Iran known as Operation: ‘Epic Fury.’ We spoke with a former Lieutenant Colonel who served in the U.S. Army and gives us some insight on where the country stands after executing this attack.
‘Operation: Epic Fury’ is a conflict strategically exercised through U.S. Air Force and Navy. Former Lieutenant Colonel, Joseph Lane, tells us the goal is to always consider and minimize the risk of destruction and loss of life for both sides of conflict between population and servicemen.
“Just going off of 20 years of experience you’re going to see us militarily continue to do what we do. We are having to affect their infrastructure. In other words, if I need to cripple you I have got to take out your electrical, your communications, or anything that’s sustainable,” said Lt. Col. Joseph Lane, U.S. Army (Ret.).
The question most are asking boils down to a potential World War III as tensions rise around the world.
“Could it escalate?…Oh, always, you always have that in the back of your mind when your the President of the United States, secretary of war now, and of course the senior military leadership. You look at the ethical dilemmas. Is more better or is less better? In the case, we’re trying to do less which is better by not having to put service members…troops and boots on the ground,” said Lane.
The military has confirmed the death of four service men that lost their lives. According to Pentagon Chief, Pete Hegseth, it happened during a Iranian missile strike against the ‘Tactical Operation Center,’ and the fourth American actually died Monday after life threatening injuries.
“We have to support our military whether we agree with is politically or not. At the end of the day there could be and can be loss of life, and that somebody you and I may know,” said Lane.
Lane expresses the cost for those that raise their right hand and take the oath of office or service. It becomes more about serving the country’s safety and prosperity…adding that this attack probably wasn’t planned overnight.
“We have war plans that we have to knock the dust off in many many parts of the world that we feel like that we may have to be militarily involved as a conflict of even an engagement of war,” said Lane.
Lane believes the United States is taking necessary steps militarily and remains strong.
