Carl Perkins Civic Center debuts new risers

JACKSON, Tenn. — The Carl Perkins Civic Center debuted new risers Wednesday, offering event attendees a range of upgraded features including LED lighting, armrests and cup holders.

“I’m excited. I’m speechless. I don’t really have the words, but I am excited that we have been able to get this much done,” facility manager Lushane Hicks said. “It’s been a long time coming and we are very excited.”

The new risers are expected to last 25 years or more. The civic center’s next planned renovation is a remodel of the dining room.
