Man Crashes Into Family’s Home After Being Shot

HUMBOLT, Tenn- A family who lost their home is praying for the family who lost a son. “We were having dinner at my brother’s house and we got a phone call that a car had run into the house,” said Willie Wardlow, whose sister lives in the house. Wardlow said he and his family rushed to his sister’s home to see the damage. He said at the time he had no idea that a man had lost his life. According to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, that man is Titus Middlebrook of Milan. Investigators said he was driving when someone shot into his car causing him to run into the home. Middlebrook died and his passenger was hospitalized. “I saw when they took the young lady out of the car and put her on the stretcher,” Wardlow said. “They covered the young man with sheets so no one would see.” Investigators believe Middlebrook died from a gunshot wound. His passengers’ injuries have not been released. “I’m just glad no one else was hurt and that my aunt wasn’t home at the time,” the homeowner’s niece said. Wardlow said he was not sure if they can repair the house that has been in the family for more than 40 years; but he said what they are going through does not compare to how Middlebrook’s family must feel. According to TBI, they have identified two persons of interest; but so far no one is in custody.
