Jackson to host Community Clean-up Day Saturday

JACKSON, Tenn. (WBBJ) – The City of Jackson will host its 12th community cleanup day Saturday, April 18, from 8 a.m. to noon at the public works yard on Conalco Drive.

Jackson residents can drop off mattresses, furniture and up to four tires per vehicle. Free document shredding will be available.

Commercial loads, appliances with freon and hazardous waste will not be accepted.

The health and sanitation department said the event gives residents another opportunity to dispose of hard-to-dispose items like furniture and mattresses.

City leaders said events like this help keep neighborhoods safer and cleaner and divert recyclables from the landfill.
