2-year-old found safe after mother was shot, killed in alley by masked gunman
WASHINGTON (WJLA) – A 2-year-old who was reported missing after a deadly shooting in Washington has been found safe.
Police said Royce Hawkins disappeared after his mother was shot and killed Tuesday night.
An Amber Alert was issued but was canceled the following day after the child was found unharmed.
It’s not clear where the child was found.
Investigators said the shooting followed an argument in an alley.
The suspect, described as a man in his mid-20s wearing all black and a ski mask, fled.
Police are still searching for the gunman.
