Humboldt Public Library celebrates new children’s library

HUMBOLDT, Tenn. — The Humboldt public library held a grand opening for its new children’s library and renovated building.

The community was invited to tour the new children’s library addition, see the renovated library space, hear from guest speakers and watch the official ribbon cutting. The project brings an 1,800-square-foot addition and is about 12 years in the making.

“Also in this space, we’ll have an area for bathrooms, a kitchenette, which will allow families to stay in there… And expanded our book collection, as well as some of our other activities and computers as well,” said John Blankenship, library director for Humboldt Public Library.

The library’s summer reading program will be held through June and July. The theme this year is dinosaurs.
