Milan acquires 292 acres from U.S. Army for industrial development
MILAN, Tenn. — The city of Milan and the Milan Chamber of Commerce announced and celebrated the acquisition of land from the United States Army.

City leaders, local businesses and others gathered at the Hargett Picklebarn for the 70th annual Milan Chamber gala.

The event served as an opportunity to recognize local business achievements and for Mayor B.W. Beasley to share details about land recently acquired from the United States Army.
“Well, after 10 years of hard work, we have finally obtained 292 acres from the United States Army, a prime industrial site, probably one of the best industrial sites in all of Tennessee, so we are so excited,” said Beasley.
City leaders say they have a master plan in the works that will outline how the new space will impact the city.
“So it’s a huge deal for us, it’s a lot of road footage, so we’re excited about the economic growth that it’s going to provide for this city and we’re excited to get started on all the things we have planned for there and so we’re in the master stages,” said Kayley Coday, CEO and president of the Milan Chamber of Commerce.
The event marked 70 years of celebrating business in Milan. City leaders hope that the newly acquired land will continue to grow the city.
City leaders say they’re focused on planning and prep work before any construction or development begins.
