Sleep Inn Savannah opens months after arson fire

SAVANNAH, Tenn. — One local hotel has opened their doors after an arsonist burned the unfinished building to the ground. Now they are ready for you to book your staycation.

“We want to offer for anybody local to have a nice relaxing vacation that they can come and get that and enjoy the river views and enjoy all the things that hunt riverfront has to offer,” said Meredith McLemore, general manager at Sleep Inn Savannah.

Sleep Inn in Savannah opened this past Monday and they are ready to welcome you through their doors. Since the arson on the unfinished hotel back in December of 2024, Sleep Inn has been rebuilding to be able to serve hotel guests. An arsonist might have delayed the opening, but it has not prevented them from being able to bring a special place to Hardin County and West Tennessee.

“Everything has had that special touch to make our guest feel like they are at home and this has been an elevated experience for the choice hotels as well,” said McLemore.

The hotel offers several amenities including being pet-friendly, 24-hour fitness center, guest laundry, full breakfast, and they are planning to add an indoor bar. They also have several rooms and rooms with views of the Tennessee River.

“There are 81 guest rooms in this hotel. We have riverfront and river view suites. They are double queen and we also have king suites as well as standard king and queen,” said McLemore.

The hotel is also opening an infinity pool soon with a swim up bar, firepit, hot tub, and a splash pad. The pool is set to open soon, which is now the largest pool in West Tennessee, so what are you waiting for? Come on down and book your stay at the Sleep Inn.

There is currently still an active investigation by the TBI into the arson that happened in December of 2024 and a $15,000 reward is still offered for anyone with information on the arson.
