Most Wanted Arrest in Jackson

JACKSON, Tenn. – The US Marshal Service and Jackson police arrest Tennessee’s newest addition to the state’s 10 Most Wanted list. Albert Jones Smith Jr. was arrested at a home on Old Humboldt road in Jackson around 6 p.m., Wednesday. Smith is wanted on a charge of first degree murder in the shooting death of Titus Middlebrook. Middlebrook, 20, of Milan, was found with a fatal gunshot wound inside his car, which had crashed into a home in Humboldt, Sunday evening. A female passenger was injured. According to the TBI, Cameron Bufford, 33, of Humboldt, is also charged in Middlebrook’s death. He was arrested on a count of aggravated assault. Officers believe Bufford tried to physically pull Middlebrook out of his car before the shooting. Smith was placed on the TBI’s Most Wanted list on Monday.
