Gibson County to Lose One Hospital, Gain Another

TRENTON, Tenn. — The West Tennessee Healthcare Foundation announced plans to break ground on a 2.7 acres for the new Trenton Medical Center. The new Trenton Medical Center will cost around $196,000, and local doctors say the new center will offer a variety of services for the community. “The primary services that we need are primary care, urgent care, physical therapy and that’s not best delivered in a hospital its best delivered in a building setting where people can get in and out,” Lisa M. Piercey with Physician Services said. According to a news release, the Trenton hospital including the emergency room will close Jan. 17. The Trenton Medical Center will begin providing services at the current hospital site on Jan. 20.
