2 charged in Lamar Co. meth investigation

HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) – Federal court records say two men have been charged in a Lamar County drug investigation that uncovered more than six pounds of methamphetamine and more than three dozen guns.

A criminal complaint filed in U.S. District Court in Hattiesburg said the drugs and guns were seized during searches of homes in Lamar County.

The complaint charges Warren Lewis and Tommy Dean Lucas with possession and conspiracy.

Their attorneys did not immediately respond to messages.

The complaint says authorities found 158 grams of meth and 23 guns at Lucas’ house in November.

Investigators say two searches of Lewis’ home uncovered nearly 3,000 grams of meth buried under some brush, $33,000 in cash and 16 guns.
