Mississippi College to build new dorms for 189

CLINTON, Miss. (AP) – Mississippi College says construction of a set of three-story residence halls will begin in the spring, and they should be open for 186 students by fall 2015 where Clinton Jr. High used to stand.

The Baptist college enrolled 5,030 students this fall, including a record 615 freshmen.

A news release says most buildings will have six units, each with four bedrooms, two baths, a kitchen and living room. Two special-needs units will have three bedrooms per unit.

They’ll be on the East Campus, which presently has a band hall and studios, classes and offices for graduate students in art.
